Press Release: Reebok One Challenge 18.95km @ Putrajaya



WITNESS THE EVOLUTION OF ELITE COMPETITIVE RUNNING

REEBOK ONE CHALLENGE 18.95K – 22nd September ‘13

SUBANG JAYA 3RD July ‘13 – Reebok’s mission is to change the way people perceive, experience and define fitness and empower them to be physically, socially and mentally fit for life.
We recognize that running is changing and people are looking for more from their runs, which are becoming an integral part of their lifestyle.



Reebok is organizing a timed obstacle race called Reebok ONE challenge 18.95k on 22nd September ’13 at Putrajaya / Taman Cabaran, which would target the elite competitive runners. The Reebok One Challenge would be run over a distance of 18.95Kms and incorporate 9 obstacles, with varied difficulties and would give the runners a new challenge and encourage them to participate in a new form of fitness, which is gathering a large fan following globally. The registration for the race will open on 16th July ’13 and the participants can register online at Hooha.Asia. Race kit collection would happen on the 14th and 15th September ’13, and we would also be giving to the participants the option of getting the race kit delivered to their residence.



Reebok aims to own a recognizable unique race distance which defines and reflects to the brand’s heritage, 18.95KMs. To some it may be an odd distance but to our brand, this reflects the heritage of Reebok. 1895 is the year when a running shoe company was founded and named J.W. Foster and Sons which was later renamed to “REEBOK”.



The Reebok One Challenge would have two categories: Men’s Open and Women’s Open. It would be open to athletes between the age limits of 18 years and 50 years as of 31st December, 2013. The athletes would go through a series of challenges, over the course of 18.95 kms, and would take runners through a course which would incorporate road running, obstacles and off-road running in a single challenge.



The Reebok One Challenge would test the athletes on their cardio strength, upper body strength, core strength, endurance and most importantly on mental strength. All the athletes would be timed using a timing chip, which would be provided to them along with the race kit. All participants would be given a special PLAYDRY running vest, and all the finishers would receive a finisher tee and a medal.



The participants of the Reebok One Challenge would be competing for a total prize package of RM75,000 , including cash prizes of RM 5,600. The prizes would include prizes from sponsors Sharp, Toshiba, Fitness Concept, iON Camera, Ford, Optimum Nutrition and Chi Fitness.



In conjunction with the Reebok One Challenge, Reebok would be launching the latest technological breakthrough in running footwear, the Reebok One Series. The Reebok One Series is a shoe built from back to front, the way the foot moves. These shoes would be available in stores across Malaysia from July 2013.
